We’re excited to welcome Gallery Bouldering in Oxford to the Clava community!
Based in the heart of Oxford, Gallery is one of the most exciting new climbing centres in the UK. With over 100m of bouldering terrain, a “real” rock wall, autobelays, a hydraulic MoonBoard, Digiboard, gym area, and multiple Beastmakers — it’s a great facility designed to support climbers at every level.
But for the team behind Gallery, the goal has always been to offer an exceptional experience on both sides of the counter — not just the wall. They were experiencing growing frustration and challenges with their previous system, and Clava was pleased to help. At Clava, our operators are partners, and we’ve worked closely with their team to develop and launch some exciting new features on the platform. We undertook a full data migration to ensure a smooth transition and both customer and business continuity. Now everyone is benefiting from the improved Clava experience.
Why Gallery Chose Clava
1. Robust Risk Management
Managing waivers and competencies is a critical part of operating a safe and responsible facility — and Gallery needed a system that gave them proper control. Clava enables granular management of waiver types, competency requirements, and customer tagging, so the team knows exactly who’s signed what and who’s approved for which activities, every time.
2. Rock-Solid Reliability
Opening a new wall is high-pressure enough without having to worry whether your POS will crash at peak time. Gallery chose Clava for its proven stability and performance — giving them peace of mind that their systems won’t let them down when it matters most.
3. Feature-Rich Functionality
From bookings and check-ins to retail and café sales, Gallery is now running all key parts of the business through a single, unified platform. Clava’s powerful features help streamline daily operations and let the team focus on delivering a great experience — not jumping between systems.
4. Seamless Subscriptions
Recurring memberships weren’t possible in Gallery’s previous system — a source of frustration for both customers and the team. Climbers had to manually renew their subscriptions each month, creating unnecessary admin and leaving room for drop-off.
With Clava, Gallery will also be able to offer fully automated, flexible monthly memberships. It’s easier for customers, more efficient for staff, and helps build long-term business resilience by keeping revenue predictable and churn low.
5. Integrated Hardware
Clava’s out-of-the-box compatibility with external hardware — including PDQ machines, USB cameras, and barcode scanners — meant Gallery could design a front desk setup that works exactly how they need it to. Everything connects directly with the system, making check-ins, payments, and photo capture fast and seamless.
We’re proud to be supporting Gallery as they grow their vision in Oxford. If you’re in the area, stop by and see what all the buzz is about.
